Returns & Refund Policy

Last updated: March 2026 · ChargeUp Co. ABN pending registration

At ChargeUp Co., we are committed to providing quality products and standing behind every sale. This policy is written in accordance with the Australian Consumer Law (ACL), which forms Schedule 2 of the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 (Cth) and applies to all consumer purchases made in Australia.

Your Australian Consumer Law Guarantee

Our products come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. You are also entitled to have the goods repaired or replaced if the goods fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure.

1. Acceptable Quality Guarantee

Under the ACL, all goods sold by ChargeUp Co. must be of acceptable quality. This means our USB-C cables must be safe, durable, free from defects, and fit for the purpose of charging and data transfer. If a product fails to meet this standard, you have the right to a remedy regardless of whether the product was on sale or purchased as part of a bundle.

2. Major vs. Minor Failures

The ACL distinguishes between major and minor failures, and your remedy depends on which applies.

Type of FailureExamplesYour Remedy
Major FailureCable does not charge or transfer data at all; product is unsafe; significantly different from descriptionYou may choose a full refund or replacement
Minor FailureMinor cosmetic defect; slight colour variation; packaging damageWe will repair, replace, or refund at our discretion

3. How to Make a Return or Refund Claim

To make a claim, please contact us within 30 days of receiving your order. We aim to resolve all claims within 5 business days of receiving your request.

  1. Contact us via Facebook Messenger or email with your order number and a brief description of the issue.
  2. Include a clear photo or short video showing the defect or problem.
  3. We will review your claim and respond within 2 business days.
  4. If approved, we will arrange a replacement to be sent at no cost, or process a full refund to your original payment method via Stripe.
  5. You are not required to return the faulty item unless we specifically request it.

4. Change of Mind Returns

The ACL does not require businesses to accept returns for change of mind. However, as a gesture of goodwill, ChargeUp Co. will consider change-of-mind returns on a case-by-case basis, provided the product is unused, in its original condition, and returned within 14 days of delivery. Return postage costs for change-of-mind returns are the responsibility of the customer. Please contact us before sending anything back.

5. Refund Processing

Approved refunds are processed via Stripe back to the original payment method (credit card, Apple Pay, or Google Pay). Refunds typically appear within 5–10 business days, depending on your bank or card provider. We do not charge any restocking or processing fees for refunds arising from product defects or failures to meet ACL guarantees.

6. Items Damaged in Transit

If your order arrives damaged due to transit, please photograph the packaging and the product and contact us within 7 days of delivery. We will arrange a replacement at no cost to you. Shipping damage is covered under our goodwill policy and does not affect your separate ACL rights.

7. What Is Not Covered

The following situations are not covered by this policy or the ACL consumer guarantees:

  • Damage caused by misuse, physical abuse, or improper storage (e.g. bending the cable at sharp angles, exposure to water)
  • Normal wear and tear from regular use over time
  • Damage caused by third-party devices or incompatible equipment
  • Products that have been modified or repaired by someone other than ChargeUp Co.

8. Contact Us

If you have a question about a return, refund, or your consumer rights, please reach out — we are a small Australian business and we genuinely want to make things right.
